Inro Boxes

    Filter
Traditional kimonos have no pockets so Japanese men and women may wear a compartmentalized box called an inro to carry medicine and other small personal items. The inro hung below the obi, a wide fabric kimono belt, on a double cord. These inro boxes sets, consisting of inro box, netsuke and ojime, are hand-carved in boxwood by Chinese master carvers.
