Vintage Wayang puppet used in traditional Wayang Golek theater performances in Java, Indonesia. Kapi Menda used to be in human form. He is the beauty of Resi Gotama at the Erraya/Grastina hermitage and becomes Sugriwa/Guwarsa's caretaker. As a result of the Cupumanik Astagina fight and he also plunges into the Sumala lake, Menda changes form into a wanara/ape and his name becomes Kapimenda.
