Prayer bead Tespeh strand of 99 handcarved green serpentine stone beads (known as Shamak-Sud), from Afghanistan. These beads are often used by jewelers and designers to create their own unique finished peices. Traditionally these strands are worn and used as prayer beads, each bead marking the repetition of a prayer.
