The Buddha's or Guru's feet, often called Padukas, is an important symbol in many Asian cultures. The feet represent the act of surrendering to the wisdom and guidance of the Guru, or spiritual Teacher. In these traditions there is great respect given to the feet, bowing to touch the feet of an elder or Teacher is common. The image of the feet can represent the choice of entering the mystery, the breath of life.
